This website is a simple repository of pictures and some brief information dedicated to our wonderful Pond. We're still improving the pond as necessary, but the "pond" itself (the inside) is primarily done. We are now trying to figure out how best to landscape everything together and make it look "natural". We still have a LOT of landscaping to do, and the rock on the outside is just "beta-testing".
If you haven't had the chance to spend time at a backyard ornamental pond, I highly suggest you experience it. We love our pond because it adds an amazing sense of peace, and is very relaxing. Our fish are very friendly and will come to us when they are "called". We also have beautiful flowering water lilies, water hyacinth, water lettuce, and many fish.
The varieties of fish in the pond are:
Fantail Goldfish, Sarasa Comets, Midnight Blues, Redcaps, Orandas, Shebunkins, Black Moors, and 1 Butterfly Koi. Until we re-did our pond we had 16 leopard frogs that had grown from tadpoles last year, but while the fish/frogs were in their temporary home (an inflatable kiddie pool) all the frogs left. However we currently have a few leopard frog, green frog, tree frog, and toad tadpoles. They should all develop into frogs and toads within a month or two.
